Welcome to Dangerous Understanding, a Substack by Ryan Ryles offering objective explanations and contextual observations on and for a variety of issues involving current events, politics, economics, and philosophy.
As a degreed journalist formerly published across several mediums (print, radio and internet), in several states of the USA (FL, CA, TN, GA and TX), I add 35 years and counting of studies in Philosophy-which covers politics, economics and behavioral sciences in particular (mostly western). My hobbyist studies have been deliberately away from any institutions of “higher learning”, which gives me an unbiased perspective that is supported by the titles in my personal library…
There is a serious lack of objective and contextual understanding in society, and whether you want to accept it or not, that lack of understanding is by design; hopefully my writings can help counteract some of that.
Expect me to deliver opinions that are not politically correct and offensive to an entire spectrum of current humanity; but in my view these are the opinions that are most needed to be heard and hopefully my delivery can help empower each of us to make better individual and collective decisions in our lives. Something else you can expect is an emphasis on self accountability and personal responsibility, with a balance of consideration of the community and society you live in.
